Work Life:
Why financial planning?
You know, when I started Cadence Wealth Partners, I didn’t dream of balance sheets or tax strategies.
I dreamed of sitting in the stands, cheering on my kids.
Of Gator game tailgates. Of being at the table for the small, everyday moments most people trade away in the name of “success.”
That’s what this business has given me—and that’s what I want for you.
Because here’s the thing: building a business is hard. Building a life around that business? Even harder.
The hours are long, the decisions are constant, and it’s easy to wake up one day and realize… you’ve built a cage instead of a company.
That’s where we come in.
We help business owners create a clear financial plan—not just to grow what they’ve built, but to finally enjoy it.
We tie together your investments, taxes, estate plan, exit strategy—all the stuff most people avoid until it’s too late—so you can actually live the life you started this business for in the first place.
So whether you’re looking to grow, exit, or just finally breathe a little, we’re here to help you get there.
Welcome to Cadence. Let’s build something that lasts.
Personal Life:
What is Sean like outside of work?
In my personal life, I’m a father to Graham, Caroline, and Kenny. Life mostly revolves around them at this stage, and I wouldn’t trade it for anything. If I get any free time, it is typically spent in the woodworking shop, playing banjo, making something for the kids, reading, or watching Florida Gators football (although that hasn’t been super productive since Tebow left).
The travel schedule has slowed down a bit since kids came along, but some of my favorite spots include France, Switzerland, Germany, Belize, St Lucia, and Cabo San Lucas. We took an RV through southern Utah this past summer and visited some of the most beautiful national parks I have ever seen.
- Favorite Movie = Braveheart/Dumb and Dumber
- Favorite Book = Lord of the Rings trilogy
- Favorite TV Show = Seinfeld
- Favorite Food = Pre-Marine Corps, Pizza. Post-Marine Corps, literally anything except olive
- Favorite Travel Spot = Cambodia
- Hero = Jerry Rice/Tim Tebow

Work Life:
Why financial planning?
I started with Carolina First Bank in 2007, which was acquired by TD Bank in 2010. I have always been in Wealth/Private Banking. I received the CEO Award in 2017 for going above and beyond in regards to Wealth Client Service, and continued to provide exceptional service and curate my banking and investment skills.
I also delivered high quality training to all support staff from Maine to Florida. I learned that I also had a talent for Data and Analytics and developed various reports and utilized the results to adjust procedures and employee training.
Personal Life:
What is Leslie like outside of work?
I’m married to John and am a mother to two daughters, Mia and Blake. Currently, life does revolve around their social, educational and sports schedules; but we love it. When I have time to myself, I like to exercise, read and hope to eventually get back into riding horses; which I have loved for my entire life.

Work Life:
Why financial planning?
Adding value to others’ lives is what gets me up in the morning, not only as a financial planner but as a dad, husband, and member of society as a whole. The beauty of transitioning out of the military is that I had the opportunity to decide how I want to impact this world and my family.
Why Financial Planning? Well, because I really nerd out on it, and it’s an incredibly high-impact job. It has the capacity to change lives for the better. Imagine being presented with a financial plan that shifts you from a state of fear and anxiety to one of excitement and confidence. That’s what I value, and that’s what motivates me towards success.
In my previous professional journey, I had the privilege of serving in Army Special Operations. This demanding and fulfilling lifestyle instilled in me a profound understanding of teamwork and the contagious nature of success. I served as a Special Forces Operator and later as a Pilot in the 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment. In both units, I was around some of the best individuals in the world. My time with Special Operations has molded me into who I am today.
Personal Life:
What is Leslie like outside of work?
In my personal life, I’m a sports-loving, optimistic person who likes to live life to the fullest. I’m a Christian who is far from perfect, a husband to my beautiful wife Ali, and a father to Logan and Skylar. I’m also a dog dad (if that’s a thing) to two Goldendoodles. My family enjoys being active; with my wife as a personal trainer, she keeps me motivated to stay in shape. When we’re not caught up in the kids’ activities and sports, we love hanging out at breweries, exploring new restaurants, or attending sports events.
Another passion of mine is advocating for mental health, specifically within the military. I’m on a mission to dismantle the stigmas that prevent people from seeking the help they need. It’s a sad reality that many are too proud to speak up due to fear of consequences. After a long struggle myself, I spoke up, got the help I needed, and am living proof that speaking up is worth it.
